PCN Builds New Administration Office on Bonaire

The new office building will be constructed adjacent to the current office on the Kaya General Carlos Manuel Piar in Kralendijk

Kralendijk- Pensioenfonds Caribisch Nederland (PCN) is building a new administration office next to the current office building, which was bought and restored by the fund some years ago.

In order to realize the new office, the old building of the Bureau Ziektekostenvoorzieningen (BZV) has been purchased and, in the meantime, demolished.

A new office building of two floors will be built on the vacant plot. On the ground floor a number of parking spaces will be realized, as well as a small office on the street side. The administration of the Pension Fund will take place on the second floor of the new building.

Additional office space became necessary, after PCN decided at the end of last year to move the fund’s administration, which so far had been carried out in the Netherlands, to Bonaire. As of January 1, 2019, PCN is a so-called self-administering fund. The relocation of the administration to the island creates a total of 7 high level jobs.

Investment and Financial Health

The total investment for the new building amounts to over 400,000 dollar. The new building was designed by Bodifee Design. The PCN board deems it important to have a new building that fits into the the street scene and that makes a contribution to the total appearance of the center of Kralendijk.

After a number of financially challenging the pension fund is quite healthy again financially. At the end of January the coverage ratio of PCN stood at 114.8%. As of 1 January 2019, the fund has increased pensions and pension entitlements by 2%.S
