The Bottom, Saba -Last week representatives of the Emergency Support Functions (ESFs) met at the Emergency Operation Center (EOC), located at the Fire Department in The Bottom. The purposes of the meeting was to discuss plans in connection with the 2019 Hurricane Season.
The representatives discussed where the ESFs are at with regards to the plans and procedures in case of a hurricane. The meeting also served to provide a status update of the key players in the ESFs.
Island Governor and Head of the EOC Jonathan Johnson called on people to get ready for the nearing hurricane season, to be prepared and to have a plan in place. He said that while predictions for this season varied, it would only take one hurricane to cause damage.
