Kralendijk- Member of Parliament for the Dutch Labour Party (PvdA) has sent a number of questions to Dutch Parliament after his campaign visit to Bonaire last week. Recourt says there are a number of pending issues, some of which need immediate attention.

One of the first issues for which Recourts has asked attention is the situation with Government Pension Fund, Pensioenfonds Caribisch Nederland (PCN). Recourts asks the minister of Kingdom Affairs (BZK), Ronald Plasterk and Finance Minister Jeroen Dijsselbloem if they are aware of impending cuts in pension benefits due to insufficient funding when PCN was instituted per 10/10/10.

Recourt also wants to know what has become of plans to help the social housing sector so that more citizens will be able to get affordable housing. Recourt says that plans to introduce a Mortgage Guarantee, such as is customary in The Netherlands have not made much progress.

As third point of attention, the MP wants to know what arrangement exist as to the insurance of police officers on the three islands. Recouts says that questions about insurance of police officers who die in the line of duty have become all the more relevant after the tragic death of police officer Ferry Bakx who lost his life when providing assistance at a robbery. Recourt says information he receives shows there are discrepancies between insurance European Dutch office have and their local, Antillean counter parts.
