Oranjestad- The Government in St. Eustatius is working on digitizing all documentation of government. This is an important step on the implementation of whole new document management system.

Eventually, according to information from Commissioner Charles Woodley’s office, all government documentation will in the future be stored in the AFAS-system the government is now implementing. Having documents scanned will prevent information from getting lost or hard to retrieve and as such makes Government more efficient and reliable.

According to the Commissioner’s office, the digitization of documents will also make the stored information more secure. Temporary workers have been hired to assist with the process, which will take considerable time to complete.
