PLP leader Clyde van Putten has has sent a ’thank you’ note to the Parliament of Curaçao.

Orajestad- Leader of the Progressive Labor Party (PLP) Clyde van Putten is thankful for the support received from the Parliament of Curaçao.

“On behalf of the people of St. Eustatius, I hereby express a heartfelt word of thanks for the brave and noble gesture of your Parliament” writes van Putten in his letter dated May 25, 2018.

“The courage and the strident tone with which your representatives expressed their solidarity with us are much appreciated. Those of us who followed the debate on the radio were deeply touched by your gesture. You can be justly proud of your representatives. The people of St. Eustatius have always had warm ties with the people of Curaçao. We are part of the Antillean family, and 10-10-10 cannot and will never break the bond between St. Eustatius and Curaçao. We were the only island that voted to remain in the Netherlands Antilles during the referendum in which the future of the islands was decided” the letter by Van Putten continues.

Van Putten also states that St. Eustatius will soon express repay the loyalty of Curaçao, by being the island to lead Curaçao (and the others) to their UN mandated “Full Measure of Self-Government”.

Van Putten also states in his letter that he firmly believes the Kingdom as we knew it for the past 65 years will soon cease to exist. “A new, better and more peaceable Kingdom is dawning”, according to Van Putten.

Van Putten in his letter also explains the basis of the current conflict between St. Eustatius and The Hague and writes that his coalition (Of the PLP and independent Councilman Reuben Merkman, editor) is the only lawfully elected government of St. Eustatius. “Anyone who holds otherwise is acting “legibus solutes”, as an international outlaw, unbound by law, morals or ethics”, according to Van Putten.
