Kralendijk- WEB Bonaire N.V. has discontinued the use of the Aggreko power plant in Hato. The entire electricity production for Bonaire is now taking place in the ContourGlobal hybrid wind-diesel power plant on Karpata.

After the successful completion of the test phase of the five new diesel generators at Karpata, the Aggreko power plant in Hato has now been dismantled. For the last three years this plant supplied electricity to WEB with modular power generators.

Since 2016 WEB has been managing the temporary Aggreko power plant. The temporary power plant was dismantled in the last week of October 2019. WEB has thus transferred the total production of electricity on Bonaire to ContourGlobal.

The dismantling of the Aggreko power plant was completed in two weeks and went according the plan. The Business Unit Electricity of WEB was in charge of the work that needed to be done for the dismantling.
Together with the Aggreko power plant and in good cooperation with ContourGlobal, WEB was able to ensure a reliable energy supply for the island of Bonaire over the past three years. WEB is proud of its employees for the successful completion of the dismantling project.
