‘White Glow Fète’ first event by Blue Island Gem

Daniele Richardson of Blue Island Gem says she wants to bring people to Statia and show them Statia is not ‘boring’. The first event of Blue Island Gem will be the White Glow Fète which will take place on April 16. 2017.

Oranjestad- “I want to bring people to Statia and show them the island is not ‘boring’ like some people seem to think”, says Daniele Richardson of start-up event enterprise Blue Island Gem in conversation with the BES-Reporter.

The new enterprise on Sint Eustatius will organize their first event, the ‘White Glow Fète’, this Sunday, April 16, 2017.

Richardson has over 8 years work experience under her belt, among others at the Marriott hotel in Aruba. “While working at the Aruba Marriott I noticed I was able to help make guests happy with surprises in their room”, says Richardson, who says she also did work for the Aruba Film Festival and Aruba Soul Beach music festival.

Richardson says she now wants to bring her experience home to Statia. “We need to build a good relationship with neighboring islands and bring people over to Statia”, says Richardson.

Sunday’s event is being sponsored by island spirit company from St. Maarten. The entrance fee into the event, which will be hosted at the 318Nightclub will be 10 dollars before 12 midnight and 15 dollars after. There will be various DJ’s at the party, such as DJ Pleasure from Statia, DJ Daddy Slim from Saba and DJ’s Kilo, Riddem Master and Vybez from Sint Maarten, according to an enthused Richardson.

Richardon says there are also prizes to be won by participants to the Fète, such as a prize for the best dressed couple, the best dressed female and the best dressed male.
