The flights will start on February 26, 2018

Philipsburg- In what at times seems a continuing saga of commencing and aborted services, St. Maarten based Winair today has announced the start of daily services between Curaçao and St. Maarten using a wet-leased Air Antilles ATR-plane. The plane has a capacity of 48 passengers.

“In keeping with Winair’s tradition of providing safe, reliable transportation we are very pleased to recommence service to these destinations. Winair looks forward to the continued support of the shareholders, employees and most importantly our customers with these new services. This positive development fills a much needed void in air connectivity and will also provide additional employment to St. Maarteners in these trying times”, according to Michael Cleaver, CEO & President of Winair.

Apart from the flights to Curaçao Winair also plans to serve the route between Sint Maarten and Dominican Capital Santo Domingo 5 times per week and from Sint Maarten to Haiti and back two times per week.

Winair had recently announced the start of flights to Haiti in cooperation with Haitian carrier Sunrise Airways. Today’s press release by Winair puts in doubt the continuation of flights in cooperation with Sunrise.
