Arrests Made in Bonaire for Illegal Drugs and Ammunition Transport
Kralendijk- On the night of April 22 to April 23, 2019, three men (Venezuelans J.E.P.V. 26 years and J.L.V. 43 years and Bonerian O.F.S.J. 54 years) were arrested with about 10 kilos of marijuana and 200 live bullets.
The prohibited goods came from Venezuela. The men were in the mangrove bushes near Sorobon after being dropped by a local boat. The boat was detected by the Rescue and Coordination Center of the Coast Guard in Curaçao.
Subsequently, units of KPCN, the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee (KMar) and Customs went to the site and made the arrests.
According to information from the Public Prosecurtor’s Office, on 20 May, after investigation by the KMar, two more men were arrested for this case. One suspect, 44 year old E.L.E.C. is from Dominican Republic and the the other supsect is a Bonerian person with initials C.H.E, also 44 years old.
