KRALENDIJK- The cruise ship Carnival Magic visited Bonaire for the first time on Wednesday. The Carnival Magic arrived on Bonaire in the morning hours with a total of 3213 passengers on board.

On January 19, 2015, Carnival Cruise Lines’ first cruise ship, Carnival Liberty, visited Bonaire. In the same year, six more cruise ships of the Carnival Cruise Lines visited Bonaire.

Byron Tromp of the Armada Port Agency shipping agency has welcomed Captain Rosario Arena and his crew to Bonaire. This took place in the presence of Orphaline Saleh who represented the Bonairean island government, harbor master Günther Flanegin and Elisiaanse Angel, project coordinator at the Tourism Corporation Bonaire – TCB.

On behalf of the Bonairean island government, Orphaline Saleh handed over the Bonairean flag to Captain Rosario Arena and gave an extensive explanation about the meaning of the flag. Harbor master Günther Flanegin gave the captain a framed photo of the moment the Carnival Magic entered the port of Bonaire.

Elisiën Angel of the TCB handed the captain the book ‘Bonaire Point to Point’ with illustrations of the dive sites of Bonaire and their story.

The captain received a book about the history of Washington Park from Byron Tromp of the shipping agency Armada Port Agency. The book is in both Papiamentu and English.

Captain Rosario Arena expressed gratitude for his gifts and presented Orphaline Saleh with a memento of the Carnival Magic cruise ship, as a token of appreciation. In the late afternoon hours, the cruise ship departed for Grand Turk.
