New General Manager Animal Shelter

The Board of Directors of Animal Shelter Bonaire (Stichting Dierenasiel Bonaire) is pleased to announce that Luvinia “Luvi” Rodriguez has been named General Manager of the shelter as of 6 December 2017. Ms. Rodriguez is the Shelter’s first general manager to have formal education in animal care and is the first Bonairean to hold the position. Luvi has an MBO from Groenhorst College Barneveld and (VMBO from Groenhorst College Maartensdijk.)

Luvi has worked at Animal Shelter Bonaire since August 2015 first as Animal Care Worker and more recently also as Administration and Public Relations Manager. Over the last two years she has proven herself to be a positive and creative influence in the organization and, most importantly, compassionate and proficient in her care for the shelter’s animals. In addition to already modernizing some shelter operations, Luvi looks forward to making the shelter a family-friendly and community oriented place where everyone is welcome for help, information and advice.

Luvinia, 31, lives in Playa with her partner, Christiaan Versnel, their five-year-old daughter, Skye and their cats. She is the daughter of Lusina Janga, Bonaire, and Albertico Rodriguez, Bonaire, now living in Maarssen, Netherlands.
