On Thursday evening May 17th from 7pm to 8pm at DCNA there will be a training session for volunteers to help STINAPA transplant sponges.
It’s time for some pier renovation at the salt pier and Cargill and STINAPA are working together to save as much marine life as possible at this very biodiverse and popular dive site. If you are an experienced diver and would like to help STINAPA transplant sponges from areas that will be under construction to areas safe from construction at the salt pier, please join our training session. We will explain the project, describe the protocol, walk through the methods (dry run) and plan some dives.
Caren Eckrich, STINAPA biologist and Dee Scarr , Touch the Sea, will train the volunteers.
Please RSVP at nature@stinapa.org if you plan to attend.
See you at Dutch Caribbean Nature Alliance – Kaya Finlandia 10a (opposite City Shop) on Thursday May 17th, 7-8pm
