Kralendijk- This November, the self-sufficient sailing ship New Nexus from the 4GreenFoundation is visiting Bonaire again. The captain’s, Tjerk and Niels, are cleaning beaches all over the world together with the local people. Some of the collected plastic will be recycled onboard. This time the beach clean-up is not just a clean-up; Dutch artist Maria Koijck will turn collected marine litter into a piece of art! The plan is to make a three meter high Flamingo from the plastic waste collected on Saturday November 3rd.

To make this project a success, the clean-up will be organized by the 4Green Foundation, STINAPA Bonaire, the STINAPA Bonaire Junior Rangers, Boneiru Duradero, A Plastic Free Bonaire, Clean Coast Bonaire, One Hour Clean Up Power, Sea Turtle Conservation Bonaire, Dive Friends Bonaire, Selibon N.V., Kolegio Kristu Bon Wardador, Scholengemeenschap Bonaire, Groningen Schoon Dankzij Mij, Bas-is Atelier.

STINAPA invites all interested party to join the the beach clean-up at Morotin (windturbines) on Saturday November 3rd. We need your help to collect marine litter for this art work and to keep Bonaire clean and beautiful!

STINAPA also reminds those who will be joining to bring good shoes, sunscreen and a hat, gloves and water. There is pick up at 8.30am at Wilhelminaplein, Kralendijk for those who do not have their own means of transportation.
